A young man, who said he had not been working in a year, said he did not feel fit enough to stay at home with his mum.
The 24-year-old from Tullamarine said he was working as a contractor in a warehouse and he was only able to walk for 15 minutes a day.
He said: “I’m trying to keep up with the work and I’m not getting anywhere.
I’m so stressed and I don’t know what to do.”
Mr Chorlson said he has been working at the warehouse for two years and is now on a pay cut.
“I have a contract with a contractor and I just feel that I’m doing nothing,” he said.
“We have the best place to live and the best food and I haven’t been able to eat in the last couple of weeks.”
“I think it’s a bit of a mess and I think it might be because it’s not a very big place.”
There’s a lot of empty shelves, a lot going out, people not working.
It’s not all bad.
There are a lot more jobs to be had out there, but there’s a real lack of jobs and a real low wage.
“He said his family did not have much money and they had to work hard to make ends meet.”
When I was younger I used to do this job.
It was a job I really loved, and I got to work in a factory and have a good life and do a lot,” he added.
